Now is the era of paradigm shift.
The revolution of electronics, communication, and the Internet
triggered by the advancement of information and communication
technology spreads to electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and
the field of artificial intelligence changing the world dramatically.
And one more future means of transportation that emerged amid the wave
of change is urban aviation mobility.
Currently, more than 250 large companies, research institutes,
and ventures around the world, centering on electric vertical take-off
and landing aircraft. Companies are racing for research
and development of related technologies.
Companies are racing for research and development of related technologies.
Such aircrafts are also subjected to the newly established airworthiness
certification regulations. After final development is completed, it is
expected to settle down through the stage
of obtaining public acceptance.
However, the technology that drives vertical take-off and landing
aircraft with electric or hybrid propulsion is still not a simple
area, but fortunately in Korea, large companies such as Hyundai Motor
and Hanwha System jumped into this field by planning
an early investment.
Nevertheless, it is already well known that the domestic acquisition
of various infrastructure technologies that make it possible is poor,
so we would like to acquire and
upgrade related elemental technologies through the center's R&D
activities.
Please stay tuned for our research and development
progress on UAM, which is the latest trend in aerospace and will
emerge as one of the growth engines for the Korean economy in the future.
